Abstract

Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is commonly comorbid with depression. Little is known behind the mechanisms of this comorbid relationship. Results from an online sample on Amazon’s Mechanical Turk indicate that hopelessness mediates the relationship between PTSD and depression; suggesting the importance of focusing on hopelessness following a trauma.
