Association between Body Image Disturbance and Willingness to Undergo Elective Cosmetic Surgery: The Mediation Role of Cognitive Fusion

Body image disturbance is associated with cognitive fusion (CF) and willingness to undergo elective cosmetic surgery. CF did not mediate the association between the latter and body image concerns. These results are supportive of psychological evaluation pre-surgery in the general population, and calls for further research on CF in BDD.
