Abstract

Research on protective and risk factors rarely examines cultural differences. A structural equation invariance model from the Midlife in the United States (MIDUS-II) and the Midlife in Japan (MIDJA-I) datasets revealed that Japanese and Americans differed in the impact of individual protective factors, social support, and culture on stress.
