Depressive Symptoms in Youth: Relations with Two Physiological Indices of Emotion Regulation

Abstract

Theory and research suggests that the physiological dysregulation of emotion may be linked with depression in youth, although little research has examined this relation in a diverse sample of youth. The results indicated that lower resting heart rate variability and heart rate variability reactivity were associated with greater depressive symptoms.
