Abstract

This study suggests personality traits, especially high neuroticism and agreeableness, may exacerbate ADHD symptoms’ co-occurrence with depressive problems and rule-breaking behavior during young adulthood, in line with the exacerbation model of trait-psychopathology associations. Traits may be important targets when screening individuals with ADHD for co-occurring depressive problems and rule-breaking behavior.
