Abstract

With the hypothesis that prosocial behavior improves mood and engenders further prosocial behavior, this study examined effects of a prosocial manipulation (vs. a control manipulation) in a normative population, with oversampling for Borderline Personality Disorder traits. The manipulation improved mood but not subsequent prosocial behavior, regardless of borderline trait level.
