Abstract
A study of beliefs about fully automated vehicles revealed that the most negative views are held by the least knowledgeable consumers. Although consumers are generally confident in their beliefs about self-driving vehicles, their confidence is more strongly correlated with perceived knowledge and self-confidence than real expertise.
