Abstract

Relationships between personality type, measured using the Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI), and self-reported preference of 12 gaming-related dimensions, using a 10 cm visual analogue scale, were obtained. Anxiety, Somatization and Suicide were associated with science fiction/fantasy and adventure content and inversely related to realism, violence and competition.
