Abstract

This study examines listeners' pre- and post-emotions in regards to classical music. The control group (N=26) just listened to Beethoven, whereas the experimental group (N=43) was informed about Beethoven’s piece. Results show no differences in pre-emotions, but post-listening emotions altered, suggesting that antecedent information influences how listeners perceive classical music.
