Abstract

Results, from a sample of 201 participants from a private Christian university in Southern California, found a positive relationship between social media addiction and self-esteem, as well as social media addiction and loneliness. Additionally, results found that upward social comparison partially mediated the relationship of social media addiction and self-esteem.
