Situational Factors in Youths’ Moral Judgments

Abstract
Canadian adolescents classified, judged and justified their judgments on experimental scenario- characters’ deceptive and truthful statements in Patriotic (collectivistic) and Friendship (individualistic) conditions. The youths showed more concern about protecting a best friend than they did a compatriot, indicating more allegiance to individualistic, than to collectivistic values.
