Inheritance of Political Party Identification By College Students

College students asked about political party identification, using separate scales for Democrat, Republican, and Independent, instead of a Democrat-Republican scale, revealed moderate correlations between each parent and self on the same scales, negative generational correlations on Democrat by Republican scales, and near zero generational correlations between those and independent scales.
