Abstract

Two studies examined whether two types of sexism (hostile sexism [HS] and benevolent sexism [BS]) would predict the tendency to endorse gender clichés reflecting psychological gender dichotomization. Results showed that BS toward men predicted endorsement by female students, whereas HS toward women predicted endorsement by male students.
