Abstract

The cold pressor task (CPT) was used to determine whether different emotion regulation strategies (distraction, reappraisal, and reassurance) impacted pain responses in children with cancer. Children in the reassurance condition exhibited salivary alpha-amylase levels that continued to rise after the CPT as compared to children in other conditions.
