Abstract

Previous research of self-compassion was based on self-reports. Using both Implicit Relational Assessment Procedure, a well-established measure of implicit beliefs, and Neff’s self-compassion scale, this study explores common humanity. The belief that suffering is a shared human experience. It is hypothesized that there are discrepancies between implicit and explicit measures.
