Abstract
Participants read that, in their community, intergroup contact is common, uncommon, or received no information about contact. High (vs. low and control) contact predicted contact behaviour indirectly through heightened intergroup contact norms and intentions. Some effects were moderated; e.g., contact intentions or behaviours were stronger for those prone to prejudice.
