Abstract

Emotion regulation research has focused predominantly on how people implement different strategies and has neglected how people select those strategies – a crucial early step in the emotion regulation process. To fill this gap, the present investigation developed a sensitive laboratory measure assessing individual variability in emotion regulation strategy selection.
