Abstract

Prior studies have shown that adjustments to natural accent occur quickly. The phonetic recalibration literature suggests that phonetic boundary shifting is a plausible mechanism of accent adaptation. The current study tested this hypothesis directly and addressed whether phonetic boundary shifting plays a central role in natural accent accommodation.
