Abstract

Colloquially, “ghosting” refers to instances where one partner dissolves a romantic relationship by avoiding contact with the other partner. The current study sought to empirically examine lay definitions of ghosting, how ghosting is implemented, the motivations behind ghosting, and the individual difference variables that may be associated with this behavior.
