When Depletion of Willpower Meets Culture: Do Chinese Have a Stronger “Muscle”?

Based on the Implicit Theories on Willpower Questionnaire, we examined whether Chinese college students, compared to US students, are less inclined to believe that willpower depletes. The questionnaire’s two sub-scales demonstrated good psychometrical quality. Chinese believed less in depletion of mental resources but more in the depletion of resisting temptation.
