Abstract

This study examined the role of cultural values in mental health stigma. 110 Asian and European American received either a mental or physical illness prime, then self-reported their stigma-related beliefs. As expected, mental illness (vs. physical illness) priming led to higher stigma, and ethnicity and cultural values moderated this relationship.
