Abstract

Examined whether or not secular and religious adults garner analogous emotional benefits (e.g., low death anxiety and difficulty regulating emotions) from something other than religion (i.e., belief in science). 257 ethnically and religiously diverse undergraduates participated. Positive emotional outcomes varied by behavioral religiosity, and beliefs held about science and God.
