Abstract
Community adults (M=50 years) read a hypothetical cover letter that varied only in its rate of grammar usage errors (Error-free, Typical 2/100 words, or High 4/100 words). Exposure to a letter with grammar usage errors tainted not only perceptions of the applicant’s writing but also of their employability and character.
