Abstract

Studies suggest that left- and right-handers are equally likely to be musicians. However, no studies have looked at degree (consistent vs inconsistent) of handedness and musicianship. We found that inconsistent-handers were more likely to play an instrument, although there were no differences in instrument played or perceived proficiency.
