Abstract

A study investigating the effect of an emotion regulation strategy (acceptance) on defensive pessimists; a group of individuals who need to harness their negative emotions to achieve goals. Findings highlight the importance of considering role of individual differences in the application of therapies aimed at reducing negative emotional experiences.
