Hemodynamic Activity in Medial Prefrontal Areas Diminished in College Women with High Math Anxiety

Abstract

fNIRS was used to investigate hemodynamic response in the PFC. College women responded to addition problems presented with either a correct or incorrect sum. Participants with low math anxiety had greater activation in medial PFC compared to participants with high math anxiety, but did not differ in lateral PFC areas.
