The Development of Structured Internal Representation As Assessed By the Complexity of Preschool and Kindergarten Children’s Block Constructions

Abstract

In the current study, development of structured internal representation was assessed based on the complexity of block constructions made by preschoolers and kindergarteners aged 3 to 6. These findings suggest that the transition from 3-4 to 4-5 seems to be the critical period of block building.
