Abstract

The present study examined borderline personality pathology in relation to the intergenerational transmission of early life adversity. Results from multi-level models indicated moderate associations between childhood abuse and neglect across two generations; borderline pathology partially mediated the association between childhood emotional neglect reported in one generation and the next.
