Abstract

The present study examined the extent to which the achievement benefits of a web-based motivational intervention based on attribution theory (attributional retraining; AR) were moderated by self-esteem and time of year. For low self-esteem students Fall AR helped year-end grades, whereas for high self-esteem students Winter AR was more beneficial.
