Abstract

Social media site postings record past events, serving as a rich, ecologically-valid data source for autobiographical memory investigators. Reminders of past postings are effective in bringing to mind autobiographical memories with recall patterns replicating picture superiority effects and delay effects. Further, reminders influence current emotion (mildly) and current behavior (rarely).
