When I Feel in Control, Anxiety Is My Propeller

Abstract
The literature has increasingly acknowledged the important role affective factors play in achievement development. The present study examined the longitudinal relation between anxiety and learning avoidance in three academic domains. We found that high domain-specific anxiety predicted less avoidance in learning in students who exhibited high levels of mental toughness.
