Abstract

The pervasive success of phishing emails highlights the importance of understanding the decision-making process behind unsafe responses to phishing. We empirically evaluated the effectiveness of signal detection theory (SDT) for measuring and analyzing phishing email susceptibility. Findings indicated that SDT metrics are useful for accurately quantifying decision-making regarding phishing emails.
