Acute Dissociation Reactions Predict Subsequent Posttraumatic Stress and Growth

Abstract
During the 2014 Israel-Gaza conflict, Israeli civilians (n=96) made twice-daily ESM assessments of dissociation symptoms for 30 days. A mixed effects random intercepts and slopes model estimated dissociative reactivity. Exposure to rocket sirens predicted acute dissociation reactions. Higher dissociative reactivity predicted higher posttraumatic stress and posttraumatic growth two months later.
