Demographic Variables As Predictors of Coping Mechanisms in University Students

We investigated demographic variables as predictors of coping mechanism use among university students (n=833). Engagement coping and seeking instrumental support were predicted by age. Disengagement coping was predicted by country of birth. Seeking emotional support was predicted by sex. Planning and seeking emotional support were predicted by parental education level.
