Gender Differences in Rates of Symptoms of Depression in an Ethnic Population

Abstract
This study documents the rates of depression in a community sample of Muslim Americans using a validated depression scale. Rates of probable depression were high (78%) in this sample. Probable depression was associated with being married, and less educated. Males tended to have higher depression than females (90% vs 56%).
