Abstract
We explored the potential influence of expectations on cognitive performance during a sham-controlled tDCS intervention. People’s expectations, although initially uncertain, appear to change based on information provided and may subtly influence cognitive and other intervention outcomes. Expectations should be taken into account when designing and interpreting cognitive interventions.
