Abstract

We conducted a confirmatory factor analysis to better understand the relationship between depression and chronic pain. Model fit was excellent, suggesting that pain catastrophizing, psychache, and depression each represent distinct constructs that are significantly correlated with one another. Presence of chronic pain was associated with greater catastrophizing, psychache, and depression.
