Abstract

This study investigated gay men’s ability to identify the faces of other gay men (i.e., gaydar). A sample of 109 gay-identified men viewed and categorized facial photos of both gay and straight male targets. Results indicated that this sample was no better than chance at correctly identifying gay male targets.
