Abstract

A dot-probe test examined race-based bias in black participants viewing black targets. Participants (n=21) viewed 144 pared-faces in this 2 (expression: smiling or neutral) x 2 (race: black or white) x 2 (presentation length: 30 or 450 milliseconds) design. Race trumped facial expression, suggesting a non-threatening bias towards black faces.
