Abstract

We examined discrimination of immigrants possessing varied skills. More highly skilled immigrants were more likely welcomed, while those with more non-threatening skills to Americans were more warmly perceived and admired. Agreeableness was positively linked with sympathy and helping. More acculturated Hispanics were less likely to help and associate with immigrants.
