The Causal Chain of Events in Narrative Passages Enhances Free-Recall for Consistent Information More so Than for Functional Information. This Pattern Reverses with Time.

Abstract
The presence of the causal chain in a narrative plays an immediate role in fortifying the reader’s representation and memory in the presence of non-functional information. The causal chain plays a later role in fortifying the reader’s presentation and memory in the presence of inconsistent information.
Memory
