How College Students’ Financial Independence, Employment, and Socioeconomic Status Relate to Perceived Attainment of Adult Status

Financial independence and socioeconomic status have been proposed as important factors in determining adult status attainment during emerging adulthood. The present study found that college students’ perception of adult status attainment was associated with financial independence and number of hours worked per week, but not with socioeconomic status.
