Calculating Estimated Rates of Early Childhood Special Education Eligibility from a National Longitudinal Database

Abstract
Due to the lack of information regarding prevalence rates for children eligible for early childhood special education (ECSE) services, this study estimates the percentage of children that are eligible for these services based on direct child assessment data. Results indicate that approximately 13.22% of children are eligible for ECSE services.
