Effects of Peer Support on Internet-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Treatment Outcome and Completion Rate

Abstract

In an internet-based CBT program, students with anxiety and depression showed a significantly higher completion rate if they also participated in a peer-support group. However, it does not clinically improve their outcome. This suggests that if better treatment outcome is desired, clinician support remains the preferred method.
