Incremental Growth Beliefs in Self-Compassion Foster Self-Compassion

Study 1 found that participants' growth-beliefs in self-compassion of themselves is associated with self-compassion independent of self-esteem and general growth-beliefs. Study 2 found that participants' growth-beliefs in self-compassion of themselves at time 1 predicted more self-compassion two months later. This is independent of general growth-beliefs and self-esteem.
