Effect of Achievement Priming on Athletic Performance

Abstract

Athletes from various sports completed a scrambled sentence task that contained neutral or achievement-related words before performing an sport-specific athletic task (e.g., free throws). Results showed that the priming of achievement goals did not impact athletic performance.
