The Effect of Gender on Saving Pets over Young Versus Old Humans

Abstract
We provided 122 participants with moral dilemmas in which they were forced to save their pet or a human (infant, 40-year-old, or 80-year-old) from death. As predicted, participants were more likely to save their pet as human age increased, and females were more likely than males to save the pet.
