Abstract

Empirical evidence suggests people self-report a combination of actual and illusory growth following a trauma. This study evaluated a new measure of posttraumatic growth (SRGS-R) designed to limit illusory growth. Our findings suggest the SRGS-R is an improvement over current measures in assessing actual growth, while limiting reported illusory growth.
