Abstract

Food and safety are essential for survival. Their environmental constraints shape life history (LH) strategies. Results based on a longitudinal sample of over 1000 adolescents from 8 countries support the evolutionary conception that human development responds to environmental cues about extrinsic risks in regulating LH, development, and behavior.
