The Influence of Regulatory Mode on Emotion Regulation

This research is among to the first to explore the relationship between Regulatory Mode Theory and emotion regulation. Results demonstrate that those high on ‘locomotion’ motivation tend to engage in cognitive reappraisal, whereas those high on ‘assessment’ motivation tend to engage in expressive suppression.
